About us

Family Leadership Academy (FLA ) works successfully with parents to develop leadership and advocacy skills. FLA is in its 6'n year of providing workshops that develop parent's leadership skills and abilities that are then applied to implement a project in their child's school. Parents earn up to 6 Continuing Education Units (CEUs) from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, School of Continuing Education, Center for Urban Community Development. Evaluation is incorporated into all sessions. Based on this successful/ development, implementation and evaluation of FLA, we are expanding our services to more parent populations.

Family Connectors are key to the success of the FLA. Each school has a Family Connector who acts as a liaison with FLA and the school. Connectors act as facilitators, workshop designers, implementers, and recruiters.

FOK Level 2, Parent Workshops are being held in January and February at Silver Spring Academy housed in Silver Spring Neighborhood Center in Milwaukee
